Pushed to the Fringes

Believers today hardly ever talk to others about how God has impacted their life. Christians are in retreat says noted Christian author Phillip Yancy. “Many retreat as Christianity gets pushed to the fringes of society.” I agree.

Retreating is the opposite of what Jesus did. We’re supposed to be a battleship of love, not a cruise ship of pleasure.

A few men are searching for something real. Here’s where we have the privilege of being generous with our lives to co-workers and neighbors. If we open up to those around us, they're more likely to open up to God. Those are Men Who Win.

We can come along aside a Christian who may be struggling. Maybe visit him at his house, taking him to lunch, assisting him in some way. This is sacrifice of our time for sure, but we want people know we're not just “making up” the Good News.

You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. (Matthew 5:13, Message Bible) That is not retreating.

Retreat? No way. Let’s be pro-active about God’s generosity.
