Little Things Can Make A Huge Difference
Posted on April 13, 2014
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. -1 Thessalonians 5:11 This is one thing women usually do much better than men. Men tend to want to put this concept in the category of "touchy-feely". But the reality is we were built by God to need this. It is what causes us to conform to the desires of others-which is one of the reasons we have to be careful about the people we hang out with. You have no idea how much someone might need your encouragement. Your encouragement could change his day. Your recognition of another man's accomplishment could cause him to change his entire approach to life. All you have to do is find something you can, with sincerity, compliment him about. Then write him a note (I do it on special personalized stationary), or send him an email, or even a text. Do it out of the blue. Pray for him. If God leads you to a Bible verse to share, include that too. When I was going through a really tough time, I had a brother who sent me a note with an uplifting scripture and a prayer he had prayed for me. It meant so much to me, I attached it to my bathroom mirror. So many tough days were a little lighter when I saw his note on my mirror. God used it over and over again to speak to me. We are called by God to build up the other members of the body (our brother and sisters in Christ). Do it! You will be surprised at the impact you make. Jamie Futrell Chairman MEN WHO WIN |
